紅雀王牌Adam Wainwright 8局只失1分，幫助球隊以4比1擊敗費城人，拿下本季第10勝，追平紅人的Alfredo Simón，並列國聯最多勝投。

之前因為手肘不適，Adam Wainwright跳過1次先發，休息了10天再登板，這果然是正確的選擇，他今天只被打出6支安打，投出7次三振，沒有任何保送，讓球隊中止最近的3連敗。

「這是正確的決定，」Adam Wainwright說，「有的時候一陣子沒投球，會不曉得自己會有什麼反應，但我整場比賽都感覺極佳。」

「唯一一次我的手臂有感覺，是在我上場打擊，被Cole Hamels擠壓到，我打成了個三壘滾地球。」

對上Cole Hamels，Adam Wainwright也必須拿下最佳水準，而他的表現確實也好一點點，除了第三局失掉1分，沒有讓費城人跨過二壘壘包，總共投了104球，當中68球好球，防禦率再下降到2.08。

Trevor Rosenthal第九局上來，投出2次三振，本季24次救援機會，21次救援成功。
