為與智慧手機區隔，輕便型相機朝大感光元件發展成為最新趨勢，SONY RX100搭載1吋感光元件，續推二代機款RX100 II；Leica新機X VARIO配備單眼相機尺寸感光元件，提升畫質銳利度。

相機採用大感光元件，可有效提升影像解析度，過去僅用於專業單眼相機，現在於輕便型相機就能兼顧畫質與操作便利性。SONY RX100配備1吋感光元件，尺寸是一般相機4倍，大幅提升解像度，去年推出後銷售熱烈，再祭新款RX100 II。

RX100 II最大革新在於搭載1吋背照式CMOS感光元件，感光度佳，有效降低夜景雜訊；另具翻轉螢幕，高低角度拍攝較方便，新增熱靴設計，支援外接閃光燈、麥克風。還新增串聯功能，可連智慧手機與平板電腦，使用搭載NFC的電子裝置，開啟NFC，可用手機、平板操控相機、瀏覽照片。若無配備NFC，RX100 II也有Wi-Fi互連功能。7月19日上市，22,980元。

Leica同樣看好大尺寸感光元件趨勢，推出頂級輕便型相機X VARIO，感光元件卻採用單眼等級的APS-C尺寸，鏡頭改為變焦鏡、焦段28-70mm，提高操作便利度。Leica X VARIO全機身皆德國製造，機身98,000元。

【綜合報導】美國遭遇了今夏最大範圍的熱浪襲擊，有19個州發佈了高溫警報。衛生部門說，至少有6人因這次熱浪致死，其中紐約1人、馬里蘭州5人。
 
從本周開始，美國幾乎每個州的最高氣溫都超過了32℃，其中，最嚴重的美國東北部和中西部地區，多地的最高氣溫達到或超過了37.8℃。
 
由於持續高溫，美國多個城市的用電量直線飆升，為保障消防和居民用水，從16日晚間開始，華盛頓特區郊外地區開始實施間歇性供水，而這種狀況還將持續3至5天。美國疾病管制預防中心的數據顯示，美國平均每年有600多人因天氣過熱致死。
