【周佩萱╱綜合外電報導】影片中看來年紀不到5歲的男童，穿著Crocs涼鞋在汽車旁奔跑，還可不時聽到一名男子怒吼道「這就是我們訓練美式足球員的方式，老爸開車，兒子跑著追，快點，跑快點，你跑起來像個老爺爺，你連屁都不值，加快速度」。

這段虎父訓練兒子影片，出現在Worldstarhiphop.com網站上，老爸一邊開著車，一邊嚴訓兒子，縱使兒子表示已經盡全力奔跑，老爸還是充耳不聞，並怒吼不想聽到任何藉口，並表示如果兒子想當德州代表踢美式足球，或是想當牛仔的話，就要努力跑起來。

影片拍攝者是來自德州的布萊恩葉慈，以這種方式訓練兒子，而且汽車速度最快還曾到時速12公里，這段影片放上網後，隨即成為熱門討論話題，引發不少批評，認為這樣訓練一個小孩也未免太嚴苛。

【大紀元2013年12月20日訊】（大紀元特約記者高明德紐約報導）白思豪要成為最有權權威的市長，就必須得到市議會的支持，議長就是其中最關鍵的人物。明年1月8日，紐約的51名議員將選出下屆議長。白思豪的盟友﹑東哈林區議員韋華莉（Melissa Mark-Viverito）星期三（12月18日）對外宣布，她已獲得足夠的選票，有30名議員為她背書，可以讓她當上下屆議長。候任市長白思豪也說：「我非常尊敬韋華莉，和她的合作關係也非常好。」

而韋華莉的競爭對手﹑上東城市議員葛羅尼克（Dan Garodnick）認為，韋華莉現在這樣講還為時過早。葛羅尼克依然准備勸說一些議員改變主意。

市議長的職位非同小可﹐尤其重要的是，議長有權決定誰的提案能夠提交給全體議員投票。

韋華莉一向被視為紐約市最具自由派思想的議員之一，她和白思豪對很多事物的看法相當一致。

如果白思豪希望讓他喜歡的法案能夠盡快通過，讓他不看好的法案盡量延後，那麼有韋華莉這樣一位盟友當議長，就尤為重要了。

聯邦眾議員克勞利（Joe Crowley）19日表示，由於議會議長的選舉在明年1月8日，所以日前的宣布有些「小布什總統在航母上致詞」（為時尚早）的味道。他相信韋華莉議員的能力，也相信其他參選議員的能力，但韋華莉的這個宣布似乎為時尚早。他不想評價白思豪推薦議長是否「過界」，他認為那是白思豪的問題。克勞利表示﹐他並不熟悉市長和市議長的職權範圍﹐也不知道議員們談了些什麼，而讓韋華莉議員發表該聲明。
