航空器巨擘空中巴士(Airbus SAS)指出，目前空運市場已可見到明顯的彈升氣勢，尤其新興國家空運需求更是亮眼，在各主要機場起降班次已趨於飽和狀況下，單一航班勢必要載運更多旅客，方能滿足市場成長的需求。空中巴士看好受此趨勢帶動，巨無霸超廣體客機A380的銷售勢頭將進一步強化，在未來航空市場中扮演更關鍵角色。

空中巴士A380行銷總監 Antonio Da Costa表示，因空運需求不斷增長，滿足旅客需求成為第一要務，航空業者在規劃其機隊佈局時必須更加審慎；尤其新興市場的空運規模放大，如何搭築起與成熟經濟體的空運橋樑，已成航空業者不能迴避的重要議題。

Antonio Da Costa以航空大城倫敦、東京與香港為例，指出這些城市的機場班機起降次數已近飽和，然而往返於新興國家與上述城市的班次需求仍有增無減。然而航空業者不可能無止盡增班，這顯示出每班次客機需搭載更多旅客，才能滿足未來的成長需求，因此超廣體機型A380正是此一問題的解決方案。

空中巴士的A380客機是全球最大的廣體客機，依照標準客艙配置可載運525名旅客，而若以全經濟艙的單艙等配置，A380更可搭載高達853名乘客，飛航長達15,700公里的洲際航線。

就既有的A380航網分布來看，Antonio Da Costa指出，亞洲－歐洲線是A380最大市場，每週有116個A380航班往返於歐亞大城之間。而A380起降最繁忙的機場則是倫敦希斯洛(Heathrow)，每天有13個班次往返於倫敦與杜拜、香港、吉隆坡、洛杉磯與新加坡之間。在其他航點方面，每週有超過63個A380航班飛往日本、56個航班飛往香港，這顯示出串連這些航點的大型客機需求均有增無減，為A380銷售奠定根基。

空中巴士今年預定共將交付25架A380客機，包括首次取得該款機種的英航(British Airways)，以及阿聯酋長航空(Emirates)、法航(Air France)、中國南方航空(China Southern)、大韓航空(Korean Air)、馬來西亞航空(Malaysia Airlines)與泰航(Thai Airways)等既有客戶。
